Aircraft History
Built by Lockheed as model 237-27-01 in Burbank. Constructors Number 237-5541. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PV-1 Ventura bureau number 34651. Shipped overseas to Australia as part of defense aid.

Wartime History
On August 25, 1943 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as PV-1 Ventura A59-55. Assigned to No. 13 Squadron. No known nickname or nose art.

Mission History
On December 7, 1943 took off from Canberra Airfield piloted by FLGOFF Roy Sinclair on a training flight and crashed near Gundaroo, ACT. The entire crew were killed on impact. After the crash, officially converted to component.

Recovery of Remains
After the crash, the remains of the crew were recovered.

Memorials
