Aircraft
History Built by Lockheed in Burbank. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PV-1 Ventura bureau number unknown. Mission History While attempting to take off overloaded from Isle de Guadalupe Airfield, force landed and sustained serious damage and was abandoned. Wreckage This Ventura was abandoned at Isle de Guadalupe Airfield. John Stanaway adds: "On first impression I would guess that it could be a PV-1 or PV-3 or perhaps a C-60 (no turrets or gun ports visible. Perhaps it was one of the Caribbean losses (camouflage type does not seem to jibe). It definitely looks military, so I would peremtorily rule out a civilian model 18. Let me go through my remaining files to see if I have any data on aircraft downed in that region, and I will get back to you with anything I find on this interesting puzzle." References Some references incorrectly note this aircraft as B-25J Mitchell 44-86712 Panoramio - Avioneta Isla Guadalupe (photo) Contribute
