Aircraft History
Built by Tupolev Design Bureau at at Factory No 22 in Moscow or Factory No 125 in Irkutsk. Delivered to the Voenno-Vozdushnye Sily (VSS) as SB High Speed Bomber.

Wartime History
Assigned to an unknown unit in the Soviet Far East or Mongolia. During the Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident deployed to eastern Mongolia. The bomber was painted in motted green camouflage. A unit motif was painted on the right side of the rear fuselage.

Mission History
During the Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident between May 1939 to September 1939 force landed in eastern Mongolia. Likely, this loss was during the early months of the conflict. The fate of the crew is unknown.

Wreckage
Afterwards, Japanese Army personnel inspected and photographed the largely intact bomber. Ultimate fate unknown.
