Aircraft History
Built by Northrop. Constructors Number N.5534. Delivered to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) as T-38A-50-NO Talon serial number 63-8187 with tail code "AF 63-187".

This aircraft was placed into storage by Material Command and placed into storage in the boneyard at Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) / Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) in Tuscon in Arizona.

Assigned to the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and used for pilot training. By 2021, assigned to the 46th Test Group (46th TG), 586th Flight Test Squadron (586th FLTS) at Holloman Air Force Base near Alamogordo in New Mexico. Tail code HT in yellow block letters.

During 2024, stripped to bare metal and painted in heritage markings with olive drab upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces with a white nose cone with a U.S. star and bar insignia on each engine. The rear fuselage and wings have D-Day stripes with five stripes (three white and two black). The tail has a white diagonal stripe. On the left side of the nose was the motif of the squadron's World War II namesake the 586th Bombardment Squadron (586th BS) depicting a donkey wearing a top hat and kicking a bomb inside a triangle with a white border.
