Aircraft History Built by Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) during 1941. Constructor Number 222. Wartime History On May 5, 1941 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) to 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On May 7, 1941 assigned to 2 SFTS. On May 7, 1941 took off piloted by LAC K. J. Young, 403103. While attempting to land at Parkes Airfield, this aircraft stalled from 20' and flipped upside down, the pilot was unhurt in the crash landing. Afterwards, this Wirraway was repaired. On February 26, 1942 while being taxied by LAC A. J. Cotterhill, this aircraft accidentally taxied into a trench damaging the propeller and cowling. Repaired by August 30, 1944. On October 31, 1944 assigned to 5 SFTS. On February 26, 1945 sent to Clyde Engineering for overhaul. On March 7, 1945 assigned to 2 Air Depot (2 AD) and placed into storage. Postwar On January 9, 1953 issued to Department of Aircraft Production (DAP). On December 4, 1958 listed for disposal. On August 1, 1960 issued to Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) and stricken from charge. Restoration Acquired by Matt Grigg. On March 15, 2006 registered in Australia as VH-NGB.
