Wartime History On January 16, 1942 assigned to 1 Air Depot (1 AD). Next on June 26, 1942 assigned to 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU). On August 11, 1942 assigned to 1 Photographic Reconnaissance Unit (1 PRU). No known nickname or nose art. This Wirraway operated from Hughes Field (30 Mile) south of Darwin. Wartime History On August 23, 1942 while parked at Hughes Field (30 Mile) destroyed during a Japanese bombing raid by G4M1 Betty bombers. Afterwards, the wreckage of this Wirraway was photographed.
