Petrie Airfield was located at Petrie south of the North Pine River. Beyond to the south is Brisbane. Also known as Petrie Field or A1. To the southwest was Strathpine Airfield (A2).

Construction
Built as a fighter airfield used by U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF), Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
