Japanese missions against Wyndham and Wyndham Airfield
March 3-23, 1942

March 3, 1942 (Raid 1)
(IJN) Around 10:00am, eight A6M2 Zeros from the 23rd Koku Sentai based at Koepang on Timor strafed Wyndham Airfield. DH.84 Dragon A34-9 is strafed after landing and set on fire, with the crew and passengers escaping while it was still rolling down the runway. The strafing also sets a fuel dump on fire and sinks a steamer offshore.
