39° 13' 27N 125° 40' 13E  Sunan International Airport (Pyongyang Airport) is located at 117' above sea level in the at Ryongbung-ri, Sunan District of Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). To the south 15 miles away is Pyongyang. Still in use today as Pyongyang International Airport or Pyongyang Sunan International Airport.

Construction
Built after 1945 as a new airport to serve the Pyongyang area.

Korean War History
During the Korean War, known as Sunan Airfield or Pyongyang Airfield.

Today
Today known as Pyongyang International Airport or Pyongyang Sunan International Airport or simply Pyongyang Airport as a civilian airport and port of entry. Airport codes: ICAO: ZKPY IATA: FNJ. Served by Air Koryo and Air China with international flights to China and Russia and domestic flights to other cities in North Korea.
