Wartime History
During late September 1943, Nawadih was the first base in India for the 311th Bombardment Group (Dive) was redesignated the 311th Fighter-Bomber Group (311th FBG) on September 30, 1943. Its 382rd, 383rd and 384th Bombardment Squadrons (Dive) are redesignated
528th, 529th and 530th Fighter-Bomber Squadrons. Nawadih remained open as a combat communications radio relay facility for C-46 Commando and C-47 Dakota airfield until September 15, 1945 when closed.
