April 4, 1945
(USN) F4U-1D Corsairs from VBF-10 Air Group 10 conduct a strike and fighter sweep bombing and strafing Miyara Airfield.

April 14, 1945
(USN) Avengers strike Miyara Airfield and encounter intense and accurate anti-aircraft fire. Lost is TBM Avenger 23471 pilot Lt(jg) Victor Theodore Buettner (POW, 2 crew KIA).

(Page 143) "400 Plane Kamikaze Attack by Spencer F. Hatch... On April the 14, 1945 about 20 planes were sent from our carrier to neutralize the airfield on Ishihaki Island. Our Skipper, Lt. Comd. Wallace led the bombers. I [Spencer F. Hatch] led the fighters. We approached the airfield from the north. The fighter planes went in first, in a moderate steep diver, with me in the lead plane out front..."

June 6, 1945
(USN) F4U-1D Corsairs from VMF(CVS)-512 conducting bombing and rocket attacks on Miyara Airfield.

June 29, 1945
(USN) Two F6F-5N Hellcats conduct rocket attacks on Miyara Town and Miyara Airfield.
