    Kagman Airfield (East Field) Saipan | CNMI USA

Location
Kagman Airfield was located on the Kagman Peninsula (Kagman Point) near Kagman on the eastern end of Saipan Island in the Southern Islands Municipality in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in the United States of America (USA). To the south is Magicienne Bay (Laulau Bay). Also known as Kagman Point Airfield or East Field.

Construction
Single runway 5,100' x 150' running east to west (as of December 1944). An extensive taxiway and revetment area was located to the south of the airfield and north of the runway. Tower code named "Violet".

Today
Used well into the 1960's. Today, the field is abandoned.

Bruce Petty reports:
"The CIA had a secret base on the north end of Saipan in the 1950s and early 1960s where they trained Chinese Nationalists to fight Chinese Communists. Kagman field was used to fly in trainees at night were they were bussed to their quarters at the north end of the island. The building still survive are currently being used by the CNMI government. We lived in one for four years."
