    Long Island Airport Madang Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
Lat 5° 21' 37S 147° 1' 4E  Long Island Airport has an elevation of 116' above sea level near Matapun (Matafun) on the west of Long Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Construction
During the early 1980s, a single grass surfaced runway was built at this location as a project by the Madang Province sub-district at Saidor to provide an air link to the island.

Today
Still in use today as Long Island Airport. Airport codes: ICAO: AYLX IATA: LSJ. The grass surfaced runway is no loner maintained aside from charter flights or special use.
