Location
Musashi Airfield was located at Kurabu Cape (Kurabu Cape, Kurabu-saki) on the southern coast of Paramushir Island (Paramushiro, Paramushiru). Also known as Kurabu Airfield, Kurabu Cape Airfield, Cape Kurabu Airfield or Paramushiru No. 1 Naval Air Base. Prewar and during World War II part of Japan. Postwar, part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). Today, located in Sakhalin Oblast in Russia.

Construction
Built prewar by the Japanese with two intersecting runways. The first runway measured 4,300' x 260'. The second runway measured 4,200' x 375'. By late 1944, the airfield had seven hangers (four 120' x 160') and 57 revetments. The entire area was defended by heavy anti-aircraft guns and automatic anti-aircraft guns and machine guns supported by three searchlights.

Wartime History
Used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as the most southern and active base on Paramushir. Based the 12th Naval Air Fleet. During May 1943 and October 1943 used for Japanese air strikes against U.S. forces. Between February 1944 until July 1945 attacked by American bombers.
