Location Changi Airfield was located at Changi at the eastern end of Singapore Island. To the north is the Johore Strait and beyond is the southern tip of Malaysia. Construction Built prewar as a military airfield known as Changi Airfield, RAF Changi or Changi Air Base. Wartime History Used by the Royal Air Force (RAF). After the Japanese occupation, used by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945. Postwar Disused since the Pacific War. Today, Singapore Changi Airport (Changi Airport, Paya Lebar Airport, Paya Lebar) is located in the same vicinity. Contribute
