Aerial view eastward over Henderson Field on Guadalcanal
This photograph was taken sometime prior to October 14, 1942 when "The Pagoda" was deliberately torn down At the airfield are parked aircraft including F4F Wildcats and circular holes are bomb craters that have been filled. At the top of the photograph are coconut palm trees in rows in the Lever brothers plantation at Lunga.
