Location Quoin Hill Airfield is located on the northeast coast of Efaté Island. Also known as "Fighter Strip", "Quin Hill Airfield" or "Quine Hill Airfield" or "Quoin Hill Field". Prewar and during World War II located in New Hebrides. Today located in Shefa Province in the Republic of Vanuatu. Wartime History Used by American forces as a training airfield, prior to units being sent northward to the Solomon Islands. American units based at Quoin Hill VMSB-143 (TBF) January 16 - February 16, 1943 Henderson VMF-216 (ground echelon) arrives November 1943–December 1943 departs Torokina Today Overgrown and disused since the war, aside from occasional landings by light aircraft.
