Location
The Kokoda Japanese War Cemetery was located adjacent to the Kokoda War Cemetery at Kokoda in New Guinea. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the in the Northern District in the Territory of Papua. Today located in Oro Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG).
Wartime History
In early November 1942, the Australian Army established Kokoda Japanese War Cemetery to bury Japanese war dead. Adjacent was the Kokoda War Cemetery. The graves include casualties from Kokoda, Efogi and Wairopi.
