(AN&MEF) At dawn, the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN&MEF) arrives Herbertshöhe (Kokopo) with HMAS Australia deploys two picket boats to secure Karavia Bay as soldiers land to captured the German radio station at Bitapaka while the warships enter Simpson Harbor off Rabaul.

MONDAY, 14 SEPTEMBER 1914

(RAN) HMAS AE1 departs Blanche Bay to patrol off Cape Gazelle and went missing, presumed lost off the Duke of York Islands.

THURSDAY, 24 SEPTEMBER 1914
(AN&MEF) Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN&MEF) arrives Madang Harbor and occupied Madang without opposition.
