BURMA-INDIA (Tenth Air Force): B-25's fly low-level strike against a bridge at Myitnge, Burma, knocking out a center span and badly damaging two others.
SOUTH PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS (Thirteenth Air Force): B-24's and P-39's strafe targets of opportunity on Wagina Island in the Solomon Islands.
U.S. Army: On New Georgia, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division reaches Piru Plantation after difficult march through swamps.
SOUTHWEST PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS (Fifth Air Force): B-24's bomb Kendari Town and Kendari Airfield. B-25's hit targets in the Aroe Islands. In New Guinea, B-26's pound Kela; and B-25's hit Marawasa, Finschhafen and Lillum Saun. Lost is P-38G pilot Mathers (KIA).
USN: USS Crow (AMc-20) coastal minesweeper is sunk by erratic running friendly aircraft torpedo off Puget Sound, Washington.
USS Grayling (SS-209) delivers supplies to Filipino guerrillas at Pucio Point in Pandan Bay on Panay.
USS Paddle (SS-263) sinks Italian merchant passenger/cargo ship Ada off Hamamatsu, Japan, 34°37'N, 137°53'E.
Japanese transport Heito Maru is sunk by Allied aircraft east of Car Nicobar.
