MONDAY, 24 September 1945
USAAF: SSgt Paul J. Cascio, Jr. is liberated from Tokyo POW Camp (Shinjuku) Tokyo Bay Area 35-140. He was the only member of the crew of B-17E "Flagship Texas No. VI / Strip-Straffer" 41-9207 to survive captivity, the rest of the crew died in the crash or were executed.
7th AF: A team from 7th Air Air Force Combat Camera Unit (7th AAFCCU) including cameraman Carmichael visits Tokunoshima Airfield (Tokuno) and recorded film footage of Japanese planes that were destroyed on the ground.
