Gun History
This gun is serial number 134. Assigned to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) to the Sendai Division.

Wartime History
This gun was transported to Guadalcanal and used to bombard the American perimeter area. This type of howitzer was dubbed "Pistol Pete" by the Americans.

Display
This gun is displayed outdoors at the WWII Memorial Park (Nana Police Barracks). Both wooden wheels are missing and the gun is displayed at the correct angle with two concrete blocks beneath each wheel hub. Until the early 2000s, the gun faced westward in front of the Kawaguchi Brigade Memorial. During the 2010s, turned to face southward towards the Kawaguchi Brigade Memorial.
