Gun History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJN) as 15 cm howitzer Type 96 (1936) serial number 136. Wartime History During the Guadalcanal campaign, this gun was shipped to western Guadalcanal. During February 1943 abandoned by the Japanese Army. Wreckage This gun was abandoned on western Guadalcanal. During the 1970s, recovered by Fred Kona and transported to the Vilu War Museum where it is displayed dince.
