Wartime History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as 75mm Type 88 anti-aircraft gun serial number unknown. This gun was transported to Wewak in New Guinea. Wartime History This gun was emplaced on a ridge to the south of Boram Airfield. At the end of the Pacific War, this gun survived intact. Wreckage Until 1969, this gun remained in situ. This gun was recovered and transported to Cape Wom as one of two guns installed at Cape Wom Memorial Park at Cape Wom Airfield. The gun and base are painted green. Concrete is poured around the inside of the base to anchor it into the ground. This gun is is retracted into a recoil position pointing upward at a 45° angle. Contribute
