| Location Little Kiska Island is located in the Aleutian Island Chain (Aleutian Islands). To the west is Kiska Harbor and Kiska Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of Alaska. Today located in the Alaska in the United States of America (USA). Wartime History After the Japanese occupation of Kiska, they also landed on Little Kiska. The island was fortified with radar, three 120mm coastal guns and anti-aircraft guns to guard the approach to Kiska Harbor. American missions against Little Kiska July 8, 1942–August 13, 1943 The entire Japanese garrison was evacuated from Kiska Harbor on July 23, 1943. Afterwards, Allied forces continued to bomb and strafe the island, unaware the defenders had withdrawn. After the Allied landing Kiska on August 15, 1943, Little Kiska was occupied and found empty.
