Location
Winnellie is a suburb of Darwin in the Northern Territory in Australia. To the north is the Stuart Highway and beyond Darwin Airfield. To the south is the suburb of Charles Darwin. To the east is the suburb of Coonawarra and Hidden Valley. To the west are the suburbs of The Narrows, Ludmilla, Woolner and Bayview. and beyond Darwin Harbor.
Wartime History
During the Pacific War, Winnellie was developed into a military area known as Camp Winnellie.
