Location
The Sunda Strait is locted between Java and Sumatra in Indonesia. Also known as the Soenda Strait.

Wartime History
At the start of the Pacific War, the Sunda Strait was an important shipping route for the Allied cargo vessels and warships.

Battle of Sunda Strait
During February 28, 1942 to March 1, 1942 the Battle of Sunda Strait consisted of several warships that survived the Battle of the Java Sea and were trying to escape from Java. Allied cruisers, USS Houston CA-30 and HMAS Perth (D29) were sunk and Hr Ms Evertsen (EV) was beached.
