Location
Lat 0° 52′ 4″ S Long 130° 39′ 27″ E Batanta Island is located in the Raja Ampat Group (Raja Ampat Islands). In Indonesian known as Pulau Batanta. To the north is Dampier Strait (Augusta's Strait). Prewar and during World War II part of the Netherlands
East Indies (NEI). Between 1963-2002 part of Irian Jaya. Today located in the Raja Ampat Regency in West Papua Province (West Irian Jaya) of Indonesia.
