Location Lat 2° 42' 11S Long 132° 26' 17E Kokas village borders the Sekar Bay (Bay of Sekar) in western New Guinea. Also known as Kaukas. Prewar and during the Pacific War, located in Dutch New Guinea (DNG) in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Between 1963-2002 part of Irian Jaya. Today located in Fakfak Regency in Papua Province in Indonesia. Wartime History During the Pacific War, occupied by a small detachment of Japanese and used as a supply area, barge assembly point and seaplane base. American missions against Kokas June 10, 1943–September 27, 1944 Kokas Seaplane Base Japanese seaplane anchorage and barge area A-20G "Bevo" 43-9432 Pilot Knarr crashed July 22, 1944 series of photographs dubbed "Death of an A-20" documented it crashing Contribute
