Lat 35° 52' 60N Long 140° 31' 0E  Chōshi 銚子市 is located at Chōshi Point (Chosi Point) an elevation of 39' / 11m on Inubōsaki (Inubo Saki, Cape Inubō) in Chiba Prefecture in the Kantō Region of Honshū in Japan.

Also spelled Choshi and known as Choshi-shi (Choshi City).

Inubōsaki Lighthouse 犬吠埼燈台 Inubōsaki tōdai
Built on the tip of Cape Inubō designed and constructed by British engineer Richard Henry Brunton contracted by the Meiji government using red bricks manufactured in Japan and was 31.5 meters tall, the second tallest in Japan. The lighthouse was first illuminated on November 15, 1874. Today open to the public and is maintained by the Japan coast guard.
