American missions against Aguigan Island (Aguihan, Aguijan)
April 18, 1944–September 7, 1944

April 18, 1944
(USN) Photo-equipped Liberators of VD-3 obtained complete coverage of Aguijan. For the 13-hour flight from Eniwetok and return, B-24's of the AAF flew escort for the photo planes and bombed the islands in a diversionary action. This was the first mission by shore-based aircraft over the Marianas.

(7th AF) P-47s from Saipan fly fighter-bomber against Aguijan.

August 23, 1944
(7th AF) P-47s hit Aguijan.

August 24, 1944
(7th AF) P-47s hit Aguijan.

August 26, 1944
(7th AF) P-47s hit Aguijan.

September 7, 1944
(7th AF) P-47s from Saipan make strafing and rocket attacks on Aguijan.
