Location
Lat 5° 55' 0N Long 169° 39' 0E Jabor is located at the northeastern tip of Jaluit Island in Jaluit Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Also known as Jabor Town. Alternate spellings: Jabwor, Jabooru or Jaboru.

Prewar
The Germans established their colonial capital at Jabor. Japanese immigrants came to the Marshall islands and they built infrastructure on the island.

Wartime history
During the Pacific War, occupied by the Japanese. During late 1944, Jabor town was the first location subjected to a napalm attack by American carrier aircraft.

VMO-155 pilot John Glenn, describes the first use of napalm in John Glenn: A Memoir:
"Had a horrible beauty, the bright reddish orange of the flames and billowing clouds of black smoke against the green of the tress, the light green of the ocean water on the reefs and the dark blue deep sea water made one of the most eerie, awesome, and sobering sights I had ever seen."

American missions against Jabor
February 1, 1942 - September 20, 1944

At the end of the Pacific War, the surrender of the surviving Japanese garrison was accepted aboard USS Thornhill DE-195.

Jaluit Water Reservoir
Prewar, Japanese immigrants built a water reservoirs for Jabor village. The water concrete reservoir structure and the wave deflector (seawall) is a small segment of the shoreline protection built by the Japanese.

Jaluit Airport
Built postwar, this airport is used today for air service to the Jaluit Atoll area.
