Location
Lat 7° 9' 0N Long 171° 11' 60E  Majuro Atoll consists of 56 islands, the largest Majuro Island is at the western tip, surrounded by Majuro Lagoon in the Marshall Islands surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. To the east is Arno Atoll, to the south is Mili Atoll and southwest Jaluit Atoll.

Wartime History
Majuro Atoll was occupied by the Japanese. During World War II, Majuro Atoll was code named "Sundance" by the U.S. Navy. During Operation Flintlock, Majuro was attacked by U.S. aircraft. During the night of January 30-31, 1944 U.S. forces landed on Majuro. Afterwards, Majuro Atoll was developed into a base area and Majuro Lagoon was used as a U.S. Navy (USN) anchorage for warships and transports.

Biggariat Island (Ruth)  located at the eastern end of Majuro Atoll connected by causeway to Dalop Island.
Calalin Island (Luella)  located at the north of Majuro Atoll.
Eroj Island (Irooj, Lucille)  located at the north of Majuro Atoll.
Ajola Island  located near Majuro Island in Majuro Atoll.
Uliga Island (Rosalie)  located at the eastern end of Majuro Atoll, U.S. built runway for Majuro Airfield.
Darrit Island (Rita)  located at the northeast of Majuro Atoll.
Calalin Pass  located at the northern center edge of the lagoon only entrance into or out of the lagoon.
