Location
Biliran Island is part of Biliran Province in the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) in the Visayas (Visayas Islands) in the central Philippines. To the south is the Biliran Strait and beyond Leyte Island. To the southeast is Carigara Bay. To the northeast is the Samar Sea and beyond Samar Island. To Previously, Biliran Island was a sub-province of Leyte Province (Northern Leyte Province) until it was became Biliran Province in 1992.
