Location
Davao Gulf borders southeast Mindanao in the Philippines. Also known as also known as Davao Bay or Davao Harbor. Borders Davao (Davao City) and Davao del Sur Province, Compostela Valley Province, Davao del Norte Province, Davao Oriental Province. Beyond to the southeast is the Philippine Sea.

Wartime History
On December 19, 1941 Japanese warships supported by carrier aircraft from Ryujo enter Davao Harbor to cover the landing by destroyer Amatsukaze of Japanese forces that occupy Davao.

Sunk November 3, 1943 by USS Seawolf SS-197
