Location Lat 7° 35' 25N Long 124° 4' 13E Malabang is located in Lanao del Sur Province on the western centeral coast of Mindanao in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region / Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) of the Philippines of the Philippines. Borders Illana Bay. Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese Army forces which established a camp at Malabang with a tunnel network dug in the surrounding area. During 1942, after Chief Justice of Philippine Supreme Court Jose Abad Santos was captured in Cebu attempting to flee, he was transported to Malabang and executed in the camp and buried in barangay Curahab, which was later renamed Barangay Jose Abad Santos in his honor.
