Location Lat 14° 6' 11N Long 120° 55' 58E Tagaytay is located north of Tagaytay Ridge and Tanauan Bay in Cavite Province on Luzon in the Philippines. Also known as Tagaytay City. To the south is Taal Lake and further to the north is Manila. Tagaytay Ridge On February 3, 1945 at 8:15am paratroopers from the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment jumped in three groups onto Tagaytay Ridge. After landing, the Airborne troops encountered little resistance before linking up with ground forces by 3:00pm and began to advance northward toward toward Manila. 11th Airborne Marker and Memorial Located at the junction of Silang Road and Canlubang-Nasugbu Road is an marker and memorial dedicated in 1951 to the 11th Airborne Division.
