Location
Bagabag Island encircles a sunken crater 36 square km in area. To the northwest is Karkar Island (Kar Kar Island). Today located in Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Wartime History
During the war, Japanese used Bagabag Island to hide barges and small ships. Several aircraft crashed or ditched in the sea around Bagabag Island. Many untouched and undiscovered reefs prolific fish and coral life are underwater.
