Location Lat 10° 17' 11" S Long 148° 57' 54" E Batumata Point is located on the south coast of New Guinea. Located roughly halfway between Port Moresby to the west and Milne Bay to the east. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Central District in the Territory of Papua. Today located in the Rigo District of Central Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History On November 15, 1942 returning from a bombing mission, B-17E "Spawn of Hell" 41-2662 landed wheels down on th beach at Batumata Point. Afterwards, repaired and flown back to Port Moresby. Contribute
