Location
Lat 9° 24' 0S Long 147° 1' 0E  Boera is located on the southern coast of New Guinea to the northwest of Port Moresby. Includes Boera Point (Boera Head) and Boera village.

Boera Point (Boera Head)
A conspicuous red cliff 50m tall at the southern end of a short range of coastal hills. Boera village is just to the east of this location.

Australian Heavy Battery (Boera Battery)
One of the Port Moresby Gun Batteries. on the coastal hills immediately behind Boera village.

Submarine Cable
During October 1943, the Australian Army installed an underwater communication cable at Boera Point, to provide a direct and secure communication link between New Guinea and Australia.
