Location
Crown Island is an oval shaped volcanic island in the Bismarck volcanic arc located between the Vitiaz Strait and Bismarck Sea off the north coast of New Guinea. The peak at the center has an elevation of 1,857' / 566m. The island is surrounded by a fringing coral reef. To the south is the Vitiaz Strait and to the north is the Bismarck Sea. To the southeast is Long Island (Arop, Ahrup, Pono). Beyond to the west is Madang. Beyond to the southwest is Saidor on the north coast of New Guinea. Today located in Rai Coast District of Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
