Location
The Hansemann Range (Hansemann Mountains) and Mount Hansemann with an elevation of 1,072' / 327m is located inland from the north coast of New Guinea. In German, Hansemanngebirge (Hansemann-Gebirge). Named for Adolph von Hansemann (1826–1903) one of the founders of the Neuguinea-Konsortium (Neuguinea-Kompanie) and Astrolabe-Compagnie which led to the establishment of Kaiser-Wilhelmsland and German New Guinea. Also spelled Hanseman. To the north is Nobnob (Nob Nob, Nobonob or Nobanob). To the south is Madang and the North Coast Road is to the east. To the north is Amron. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Madang District of the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in Ambenob Rural LLG, Madang District, Madang Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG).
