| Location Harvey Bay is located on the north coast of New Guinea. To the north is Cape Sinclair and Oro Bay. Also known as Port Harvey or incorrectly spelled Port Hervey or Hervey Bay. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the in the Northern District in the Territory of Papua. Today location in Oro Bay Rural LLG of Ijivitari District in Oro Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History During 1943, developed by the U.S. Army as a small ship achorage. A slipway was built on the northern side with two roads leading westward then connecting to roads northward to Oro Bay. Contribute
