    Ijivitari District Oro Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
Ijivitari District is the eastern half of Oro Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Ijivitari District includes Popondetta Urban LLG, Oro Bay Rural LLG, Cape Nelson Rural LLG, Afore Rural LLG. Borders Sohe District to the west. Borders Milne Bay Province to the southeast and Central Province to the west and south. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Northern District (Northern Province) in the Territory of Papua. Today part of Oro Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Popondetta Urban LLG
  includes the Popondetta area.
Popondetta  inland village today provincial capital of Oro Province to the west is Popondetta Airfield.

Oro Bay Rural LLG  includes Oro Bay and the north coast area to Cape Ward Hunt
Buna  located on the north coast of New Guinea fortified beachhead battlefield and Buna Airfield.
Buna Government Station  prewar Buna Government Station.
Buna Village (Old Village)  located a mile to the west of Buna Government Station.
Holnicote Bay  located on the north coast of New Guinea bordering Gona.
Gona  located on the north coast of New Guinea, Gona battlefield liberated by the Australian Army.
Sanananda (Sanananda Point)  beachhead battlefield that concluded fighting in the area.
Huggins Road Block  located between Soputa and Sanananda near the junction of the Soputa Track.
The Triangle (Bloody Triangle)  located near Buna, nicknamed by the US Army 32nd Infantry Division.
Strip Point  located between Giropa Point and Cape Endaiadere.
Jiropa (Giropa)  located on the north coast of New Guinea prewar coconut palm plantation.
Simemi  located near Buna with Simemi Creek Bridge.
Cape Endaiadere  located to the west of Buna includes "Maggot Beach".
Hariko  located on the north coast between Cape Endaiadere and Cape Sudest.
Cape Sudest  located on the north coast south of Hariko.
Cape Killerton  beachhead battlefield first liberated by Australians.
Haddy's Village (Gona West)  located to the west of Gona.
Fufuda  located to the south of the Kumusi River mouth.
Dobodura  inland village developed by the U.S. Army into a major airfield complex.
Horanda  inland village southwest of Dobodura.
Girua (Girua Blocks)  inland village near Girua Airport (Kenney Strip, Dobodura No. 7)
Ulada  inland village between Horanda and Borio.
Borio (Boru)  inland vilalge east of Horanda and northeast of Embi Lakes.
Embi Lakes  four separate freshwater lakes including Big Embi, Little Embi Lakes and East Embi.
Embi  inland village near Dobodura Airfield complex.
Higaturu  inland village today Higaturu oil palm.
Popondetta  inland village today provincial capital of Oro Province and Popondetta Airfield.
Uhita  inland village near Girua Airfield (Dobodura No. 7).
Soputa (Saputa)  inland village at the crossroads Kokoda-Sananada and Buna-Kokoda Road.
Mount Lamington (Mt. Lamington)  stratovolcano located to the southwest of Popondetta.
Pongani  located near the north coast of New Guinea includes Pongani Airfield.
Iwaia (Iwai'ia, Iwaia Mission, Iwai'ia)  located on the north coast.
Ambasi  located on the north coast of New Guinea, north of the mouth of the Opi River.
Opi River  located on the north coast of New Guinea.
Opi  located on the south side of the mouth of the Opi River on the north coast of New Guinea.
Oro Bay  located on the north coast of New Guinea.
Harvey Bay  located on the north coast of New Guinea.

Cape Nelson Rural LLG  includes Cape Nelson and Tufi
Cape Nelson  located on the north coast of New Guinea between Oro Bay and Milne Bay.
Tufi  located on Cape Nelson.
Wanigela (Waigela)  located on the north coast of New Guinea prewar Anglican mission and Wanigela Airfield
Collingwood Bay  located on the north coast of New Guinea bordering Wanigla.
Porlock Harbor  located on the north coast of New Guinea.
Ako (Aku)  located on the north coast of New Guinea bordering Porlock Harbor.

Afore Rural LLG  located in the southern portion of Oro Province
