| Location Kul is located inland from the north coast of New Guinea between the Sa River and Karnbara River. To the east is Bau Plantation. Roughly eight miles to the west is Yalau Plantation. Also known as Kul 1 and Kul 2 for two parts of the same village. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Madang District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, located in Rai Coast District of Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History On March 21, 1944 patrols from the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry Division (32nd ID) made contact with the Australian Army 7th Division at Kul.
