Location Lat 5° 11' 13S Long 151° 59' 56E Milim village is located at the edge of Wide Bay on the southern coast of New Britain. To the east is Kiep. To the northwest is Kaulum. Between 1884 until September 1914 part of Deutsch Neu Guinea (German New Guinea). Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the New Britain District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in East New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History During early February 1942, occupied by the Japanese. The area off Milim was used by Japanese barges as an anchorage. By early 1945 Australian forces occupied this area. Today The area inland from Milim has been logged by a Malaysian logging company.
