Location
Lat 9° 34' 60S Long 148° 37' 60E  Safia is an inland village located in the Safia valley in New Guinea. Also known as "Sapia". Today located in Oro Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Safia Cattle Ranch
During the 1950s, the PNG government established a cattle ranch at Safia and built Safia Airfield to support the operation. Today, the ranch is abandoned and looted of anything of value.
