Location
Tabar Island is the largest island in the Tabar Island Group (Tabar Islands). To the north is Simberi Island. To the south is Potumbaru Island and beyond New Ireland. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Territory of New Guinea. Today part of New Ireland Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
