    New Ireland Province  Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
New Ireland Province includes New Ireland and offshore island. To the south is the Saint Georges Channel and beyond is New Britain. To the southeast is Green Island Atoll, Buka Island and Bogainville. During the German colonial era known as Neu-Mecklenburg (New Mecklenburg). Prewar and during the Pacific War part of New Ireland District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, part of Papua New Guinea (PNG). New Ireland Province is divided into two districts: Kavieng District and Namatanai District.

Kavieng District
Includes Kavieng Urban LLG / Kavieng Town, Tikana Rural LLG, Lavongai Rural LLG (New Hanover Island Group) and Murat Rural LLG (Saint Matthias Island Group).

Namatanai District

Includes Namatanai Rural LLG, Matalai Rural LLG, Sentral Niu Ailan Rural LLG (Tabar Island Group), Konoagil Rural LLG, Nimamar Rural LLG (Lihir Islands), Tanir Rural LLG (Feni Islands, Lihir Islands, Tanga Islands).

New Ireland Province Airfields
Baigai Airfield  built by the Japanese to the southeast of Kavieng, disused since the war.
Boang Island Airfield (Boang)  built postwar on Boang Island disused today.
Borpop Airfield (Huris)  located near Borpop (Huris) built by the Japanese, diused since the war.
Emirau Airfield (Northern Cape Aerodrome / Inshore Aerodrome)  built by U.S. Navy still use today.
Kamiraba Airfield  built post war near Cape Lemeris.
Kavieng Airfield  built during 1942 by the Australians used by the Japanese, still in use as Kavieng Airport.
Kavieng Seaplane Base  located in Kavieng Harbor used prewar and during the Pacific War.
Namatanai Airfield  located at Namatanai built by the Japanese, still in use as Namatanai Airport.
Panapae Airfield (Panapai)  located near Kavieng built by the Japanese, diused since the war.
Silur Airfield  built postwar to support Silur Mission disused today.
