Location
Lat 3° 39' 35S Long 143° 48' 43E Terebu village is located on the north coast of New Guinea borders Nightingale Bay (Makabing Bay). Also spelled "Terabu". Cape Terebu forms the northern edge of Nightingale Bay (Makabing Bay).
Wartime History
On June 18, 1944 three P-38 Lightnings from the 35th Fighter Squadron searching for Missong In Action (MIA) P-38J 42-67802 spotted a wheel and belly tank holder that had washed up on the beach south of Cape Terebu.
